How do I identify a rebuilt transmission with no tags
Hi,
I have a 1994 Dodge B350 Van (5.9 engine) that has a rebuilt transmission that started slipping 80K miles after the rebuild (the van has 155K, it was used and abused by a contractor). I found a blank silver tag on the right side of the trans, but there is absolutely nothing written on it. The trans should be 46rh, but is there a way to tell for sure?
The van is lifted, has all kinds of offroad goodies but is 4x2. Does anybody know whether it is possible to install front axle, transfer case and tranny from 4x4 Ram pickup? I have a fab place that can do all kinds of welding but it's not cheap. Ideally I would stick to stock components as much as I can, any information on this topic would be appreciated. I am figuring if I am gonna pull the transmission anyways - might as well.
