Hi: I'm replacing the upper and lower control arm bushings on my '79 B300 Sportsman with polyurethane bushings. The directions which came with the bushing stated to reuse the outer metal shells of the old bushings. However, in the process of removing the 32 year old rubber bushings, the outer metal shells got mangled. I have looked around trying to find anyplace that just sells the shells, but no luck. Am I going to have to purchase another set of rubber bushings, and then remove the rubber and inner metal sleeve? If so, what is the best way to remove the rubber without mangling the outer shell? Any information will be appreciated!
