Default manifold gasket

I am told I need a new manifold gasket. Would this cause excessive oil consumption, bad fuel economy and a real bad engine ping?

Yes, as a matter of fact we were just discussing this very TSB in another thread. It's actually the plenum gasket under the intake manifold that's leaking, but the manifold has to come off to access it.

I would think you'd sound like less of an *** if you let them know you knew of the TSB. I would also think they'd do it right the first time since they now know, that you know, what has to be done.
