i have a 1990 dodge van with 318. the selector switch went bad so i replaced it. the second one got really hot and "burnt out" i guess but now it is stuck in low. i live in tucson and low will not keep the van cool. what are some things that i could look at.? i dont wont to buy a new 40 dollar switch just to have it burn out unless it burns out on high lol. any help would be much appreciated

 

ok i took apart the a/c control face and messed with the switch. my switch and plugged looked burnt. i started jumping wires to see if i can at least get it to stay on med or hi but when i jumped the red and green wire for high those two wires got extremely hot. not sure why. where do those wires go? what would make those wires get that hot? thanks for any help
