1995 Dodge Ram Van 1500 - fuel gauge
My band and I just bought an (8?) passenger dodge ram van, 1995, 99K. Everything in the van works great except the gas gauge does not work. we've already spent like 3 grand in the past month for other band expenses and I was wondering if this is something we can fix? we collectively could probably figure it out.

Don't you all!
Usually when the gauge doesn't work it's because the sending unit went bad. There's an outside chance of the problem being the gauge or the wiring to it, but usually not.
The fuel level sending unit and the fuel pump are a one piece assembly inside the gas tank. The tank has to be dropped and the fuel pump assembly is removed from the top. The assembly cost around $250 to $300 depending on where you get it.
