How much are you losing and after how many miles driven?

I lose a quart about every 5k miles (every oil change). No drips and no visible smoke. With 175k miles on it I'm not complaining

Free 1959,

I was about to yell at you. 1 quart every 5 k miles is acceptable usage, but then I realized you were not the Original poster.

I don't think the OP would be worried about 1 quart every 5 k. My rebuilt engine uses about the same amount with 30k miles on it.

My old man's 2001 Corvette says 1 quart every 1500 miles is acceptable, and expected.

I have heard of a bad seal causing tranny fluid to push into the engine, but do not know if it is possible for the opposite to happen.
