Default Check the alternator

May sound dumb, but have your alternator checked. The voltage regulator is in the computer. If you have a short in the alternator it will cause the computer to malfunction. I had all of the problems that you described and I was getting a, "no bus", when it shut down. A little while later, it would start and run fine for a few days. Eventually I got the codes for a bad sensors, MAP, TPS and IAC. Eventually after a month I got a pinging sound when I accelerated hard, or went over 50 MPH on the highway, as if I had a bad wire. $1200 dollars later, ( two shops agreed that I needed a valve job) with no improvement, it turned out to be a bad alternator causing a short in the computer.
