Default How can you know that PCM is dead?

Is it true that the indication of a dead PCM is that you will not get any dummy lights when turning the ignition to the on position?

I was told this by a worker at a nearby Auto Zone who is also a car tech.

Just wondering if anyone can confirm this.

Thanks.

That's exactly what happened to mine twice.
Replaced PCM and problems solved -- for now.

I need to add that it happened one other time and it turned out to be the ignition switch.
