Shuttering Kind of Miss
That's what I meant to say way back when....
Of course ATF was seeping from the VSS into the O2 sensor along the shared harness and shorting it out, causing neither a VSS or O2 codes. It's so freaking obvious, I assumed that was the first thing anybody would check, so I decided not to insult yours or anyone's intelligence by stating such an obvious source of problems right from the start.
Thanks for posting back with the results.
From now on, I will recommend first checking the grounds then the ATF contaminated 02 sensor, for every conceivable electrical problem known to man from here on out.
Where is that sarcastic smiley which would convey the tone this was written in.
All Heck with it. It's friday, beer thirty.

It dang sure is half past beer thirty - been a long week of RAMdom shot in the dark fixes.
But if it's any consolation, my grounds have been thoroughly checked and re-checked

The mech let me hang out and watch him while he disconnected the harness's - he handed me the O2 sensor connector while mumbling something and sure as could be, it was soaked in ATF as was the speed sensor connector.
But thanks to Landyacht and alloro for all the help !!!
Hmm,
wasn't me, I didn't respond in this thread (until now). Landyacht318 and stev were the only two that had posts beside yourself. You should've known this because no one has to bring their vehicle to a 'real mechanic' when I'm involved!

yeah, I was ok with the amount - I had already dumped $400 into it replacing parts lol. But, when the title is in the glovebox it makes it a bit bearable when these things happen.
heck, it's the transmission failures that kill me. I can usually afford 300-500 repair job but when it goes into the 4 digit numbers, that's when it is a BIG problem.
I didn't really consider throwing out a one-liner as trying to help out. At least not to the same level as the others did. It was just some food for thought.
