A bunch of wires from the back end of our van got ripped up. I can splice most of them, but I can't figure out where the license plate light wire goes. There is about 8" of black wire hanging off the light, but I can't find a corresponding wire to splice it to. There are also a couple connector type things--and I'm not even sure what they do. Does anyone know where this wire should go?

It should tie in with the tail light circuit, but I believe it first goes straight up into the body right above the license plate.
