97' Dodge Ram B3500 5.9L
Hello everyone! I got a small problem with my father's van. It's a 1997 Dodge Ram 3500 Van with a 5.9 liter at 190k miles. Also automatic. Don't know if thi helps but thought I supply some info!
Anyway's here is what it's doing. When you try to start the van, It cranks but it does not start. Before it did this, When driving with a quater tank, It would always want to cut out at most times. Also it would try to cut out if driven pn the highway with a little less than a half a tank.
We had refueled it some. Not a lot in case we need to replace the fuel pump. My fther has put some gas thru the TB and it kept started for some time about 30 seconds or so and then cut out. It will crank but not turn over. Were also trying to locate the fuel connection to the engine itself but can't seem to locate them so we can make sure if we are getting fuel or not. . Any help with all of this would be great.
Thanks in advance for any help.

It's a bad fuel pump. The fuel in the tank acts like a heat sink for the pump. When the tank is below a 1/2, the pump is not submerged and it runs hotter. This is why he is only having the issues with less than 1/2 a tank of fuel.
