Could just be a solenoid or other electrical issue, not necessarily mechanical.

And if it is mechanical, I don't know if just the tail section is replaceable or not

 

switch turns light off and on, i dont know much else about automatics tho

 

See if there are any stored computer codes for the overdrive solenoid/circuit. The OD light tells you nothing

Do a search for 'Key Dance' and learn how to pull codes from the computer without a scanner, or goto AZ or someplace else.

If there is a mechanical issue, the overdrive unit will send abrasive metal throughout the tranny and that means full rebuild.$$$$$$$$$$$$$

 

here my check engine light is burnrd out. had it checked getting codes P0740 and P0783. anyone have a clue to cuase i looked up 1 is torque converter lockup 1 is 3-4 shift(i know this lol)

 

just looked at stickys post. gonna try a fluid change.
