Timing question 1994 ram van 318
I've looked everywhere. I'm checking my timing because the van runs too hot going uphill in my opinion. Under the hood it says to check the owner's manual for the timing degree. I bought it used and don't have the owner's manual. The marks on the block are 5 tdc and 5. Can anyone tell me where the marker should align on my van?William.
If the coolant level is good, then this will only be solved by replacing the radiator. Adjusting the timing isn't going to do anything. If the ignition timing was over-advanced, the engine would be pinging like crazy.
Thanks. I am able to shine the light from the top. What is interesting to me is that there is no 10`BTDC mark on the block. There is only 5`BTDC, TDC and 5`ATDC. The extreme edge of the scale must be 10` respectively, since it is equal distance from the 5` marks as the 5`'s are from TDC. I'm also looking into radiators. The one on the van seems small and it's not bolted on top onto the bracket. I've been advised to go with at least a 2 row, although for 20 bucks more I can get a 3 row. William. Also going to have to drop the fuel tank. The sender for the gauge is not working. What fun!
