smoke coming from the steering column

smoke coming from the steering column
I noticed white smoke coming out of my steering column (sort of like a lit cigarette) when I have my A/C cranked on high..what in the ??
1992 Dodge ram B250 v6 New ignition switch 2 months old.

Your Van has a nut loose behind the wheel.
And I'm not referring to the inclined plane helical type.

Some guy where I works thinks the fan is pulling too much amps could it be that?

Check and make sure the fuse for the blower motor is only 20 or 25 amps.
I've had to pull the fan switch a number of times and clean the carbon off the contacts
