Intermittent AC Issue and Loose Side Mirrors
My AC is cutting out, most commonly when entering freeway on an incline onramp. Once on level AC comes back on. I think air may be coming throug vents by legs.
I just had freeze plugs replaced to fix cooling system issue. Could my AC issue be related to this repair?
Also, my side mirrors are loose and I cannot figure how to tighten as I cannot get under plastic covers which don't seem to move enough to allow to get to where I need to get.
thanks for help.

The black plastic covers are held to the mirror mounts with a screw at the bottom of the cover -- remove the screw and you can swing the cover out of the way to access the mirror mount.
Loose mirrors is a common problem. Easy fix is to get an aluminum can, use tin snips to cut off the top end and bottom end, then make one cut from top to bottom so you end up with a flat sheet of thin aluminum.
Cut the aluminum sheet in half (top to bottom) and then fold each piece in half, one folded piece for the left mirror and one for the right. Tap with a small hammer along the folded edge to make it nice and flat.
Loosen the mirror pinch bracket and fit the sheet of aluminum you made around the outside of the mirror shaft (trimming as necessary) and then put the pinch bracket back on and tighten it down carefully.
The aluminum will add just enough thickness so the pinch bracket holds the mirror shaft tightly again and your mirrors stop swinging around.
Have fun.

Thanks for the tip on the side mirrors Rusty, I'll give it a shot.
I posted some pics online of the inside of my hood in case anyone can help me identify the vacuum hoses I should check for leaks. Is it possible for me to check the in-line vacuum check valve?

The last pic is a wiring diagram of vacuum hoses on a Dodge Ram Van.
I'm practically useless when it come to auto repair....am I better off just taking it to a mechanic?
I'm trying to sell this vehicle so I'm really trying to avoid any expensive repairs, so any suggestions on how I can keep repair costs to a minimum are appreciated.
