Talking Shift Kit???

I got a 2001 5.2 B2500 4 o/d trans and 3.92 rear gear. Is there a shift kit/reprogram that I can do to my trans to make it shift firmer?? Experience says if I can get this thing to shift firmer I can up my mileage alittle. Besides I like a trans that shifts nice and hard.

Talked to a transmission supply house, and they recommended that I make the modifications with a electronic chip, since the tranmission is electronically managed. Does anyone have experience with this?? Thanks.

A good souce of tranny info is Cresomatic Transmisson, google them, then give Bill a call see what he has to say. He's a really good guy and has been building Autos for over 35 years.

Thanks for the reference. I'll do that. I was looking at the transgo web site and they have what appears to be a reprogram kit. Think I'll try to give them a call too. What really perplexes me about this is, I can't be the first or only one who has wanted to or done this to his van. But when I talk to the local shops they get the "deer in the headlight" look. If I change and start to talk about my fox-body, they're plumb full of ideas. Still this adjustment is not that uncommon!!
