Could it be an intake plenum leak without pulling oil in there?

What is the possibilities of a bad cam chain after 118K of well taken care of miles?
I have a new MAP sensor on the way and I will take another peak in the intake then I toss it on........
The engine is quiet, Is there something I can check looking for a work cam chain?

As to wear and tear I'd say slim to none. But there is always the possibility of a defective part having gone bad earlier than it was engineered to.

Guys, yet another newbie here.

I have a B1500 conversion with the 5.9 and the EXACT SAME ISSUE! Sorry but as the original poster to this thread will attest is that this is a very frustrating issue without the usual suspects being at fault.

My unit has had a complete tune up (plugs, wires, cap and rotor, ignition coil and both O2 sensors) from the dealer. The person I bought it from had the Crankcase sensor replaced at a 3 party shop so don't know what it was replaced with. I do not recall the original poster saying so but the computer does not throw any codes. I cannot say if the problem is getting worse but its not getting better.

Absolutely any assistance will be appreciated... (and rewarded with many thakyous!)

I could not believe it, No oil in plenum, Clean and dry, Yet we had the intake plenum gasket changed out all the same, We were too far in and needed the van for moving and dropped it off for the mechanic I have known since 1982 to do, Well he said aside from the old gasket being dry and brittle he didnt see anything bad in there,,,
So I worried as I drove away,, And now nearly 2K miles later not as much as a buck, Perfect! Great running van!
So no matter if your plenum is dry and you dont consume oil It still can be needing replacement,
Sorry, But thems the facts!

Sounds like a bad fuel pump to me. Have you had the fuel pressure tested?
