Default Starts sometimes where do i Start?

Spending the weekend on the beast so I thought I'd ask a couple questions first. The van, 1993 B250, has been giving me trouble starting this week. In the morning will turn over and just not fire. I'll get in and hour later and it fires right up. My thought was plugs and wires, maybe fuel filter because Ive owned it for a year and have no idea when they were changed last. Good place to start?

The first simple and easy thing to do is to put in some cleaning additives and then put about a 100 mile run on the van (hopefully it is a nice day to go some where).

Typical symptom of a slow leak in the check valve that's built in the fuel pump assembly. It's allowing the fuel to drain back into the tank when sitting for a long period of time resulting in hard starting.

Fuel pump....Just changed the one out of my 93 B250 a couple months ago... (5.2 engine 4spd tranny...yours?) It was about $150 for the fuel pump...from Auto Zone...Also check the coil...It's only about $15...

Mechanic in a bottle.. Not my first choice for fixing something wrong.
