Default 1991 B350 Tranny problem. No 2nd gear

Hi
I have an 91 Dodge Van B350 with 318 engine and A500 aut gear. I have search all over this forum tl find answers. Problem is that i lost the 2nd gear. I have asked other forums but wanted to see if others could tell me whats wrong. Kickdown works fine. When in 3rd gear and press the pedal down hard it shifts all the way down to 1st gear. Engine rev limmit kicks inn an i have to lett throtle all the way to make it shift to 3rd again. Kickdown work also at higer speeds also but then shift down one gear as it should.

Other people says its the kickdown band thats falty. But why does it work in other gears then. Some says stuck servo. But does this litle piston only controll 2nd gear?
Help.
Sorry for my english. Im Norwegian

These people are correct, it could be the intermediate / kickdown band or it could be it's servo. The only way to know is to open the transmission.

Default Tranny fixed

Hello my helpers. Thanks alot. I pulled the tranny oil pan today to take a look. An the arm that comes from the kickdown band to the servo was way to loos. I tighten it to 8 nm and backed it up 2.5 turns.

No it shifts like new. I'm werry happy to say that i now have 2nd gear as well. jippi.

Thanks alot my friends.

Love my Dodge van. Been driving dodges for 20 years an still love them but never had tranny problems like this.

Thanks from Norway

I hope that's the issue with 2nd on my "new" tranny. That or pressure troubles from the leaky coolant lines...

Hope all continues good...

I love my 93 Dodge van too
