Default Location of external voltage regulator on 1990 B350

I have looked everywhere for a location for the voltage regulator on my 1990 B350. The only answer I could find was under engine compartment (assuming they mean dog house) on passenger side firewall. However, it is not there. HELP!!!

I think it's on the firewall next to the master cylinder?

Wierd...I just looked it up on the wiring diagrams and the external regulator was last used in 87. Your regulator is supposedly built into the PCM.

I don't think I remember seeing a voltage regulator on my '90 B250, either. I'll check the FSM later (it's downstairs) as I didn't sell it with the van.

As alloro states, the VR is internal to the engine computer.

Check the fusible links stuffed behind the brake booster before condemning the voltage regulator.

Here is a link on how to wire up an external VR:

I have the same issue with a 1991 dodge b250 with the 318 engine. I have looked at an image of the ECU, computer, but cant see anything like it on the firewall. if the fusible link has blown, surely there would be no 12 reading at the alternator with the ignition on. When the van is idling, I get a reading of 26 volts
