oversized oil filter for 3.9l v6/oil question
what is the part number for an oversized oil filter for the 3.9l v6?
or what fits it?
i can cross-reference part numbers to other manufacturers
my van specifies mopar 090 as the oem
also, what oil viscosity will be the best for my van? i am trying to maximize fuel economy, i daily drive the vehicle 35 miles, one way, per day to work then back home. we live in a climate that sees between 25*F -105*F and those are the extremes (I know, I know -- some of you are thinking LUCKY SOB!)
Thanks Guys and Gals!

Purolator 30001 will fit.
Stev posted this chart on another forum. All these will fit too:
5w- 30 would be my choice for that climate. but Rotella t6 5w 40 will be nearly as thin on startup, and a little thicker at full temp, and is one of the most cost efficient synthetic oils available, at wally world

i cheaped out this time, but still pretty happy, i guess i wasn't running mobil 1, but another oil made by mobil called super, and it is a full synthetic..... so don't know how it stacks up, but i do my oil changes every 5k or there abouts anyways
next oil change, will be probably using the same oil, and a oversized filter.... the 5 qt jug from walmart is just about perfect.... looked to take 4.5 qts

I'm running the Purolator L30001 on the Magnum 5.2L engine. All of the four magnum engines 3.9/5.2/5.9/6.1 all can use this very large size filter.
Now, with that said, if you do go with this filter do note, the oil pressure tends to a little higher than the norm.
With a larger filter, I change the oil about 4K using Castoral 5W30 oil. When the heat gets up here, then 10W30 is the deal.
