BlackVan, I rarely run both A/C's only if its super hot and just to cool it down for the first few mins...

I would like to hear if anyone figures some mods to improve MPGs ...

Is yours a 318 engine with the 355 gearing in back? We are getting ready to make our trip from IL to Florida in a week or so and that is our engine rear end combination. I am going to pick up the Gator Back belt as Steve suggested.

As you know I just had the inner and outer pinon gears replaced. So far I have not seen any great improvement in mileage but I have not done any long trips. The best I ever got on my trip from Ca to IL was 14.7 and that was before the tune up I just did.

Ok I see where your van is the 5.2 but its the short wheel base so it will be a little lighter than mine. I have the size inbetween yours and the extended.

I noticed you have painted the roof of your van white! I have been thinking about doing this myself. Has it helped it remain cooler in the summer months?

But I discovered I had a bad fan clutch, and after I fixed the fan clutch it dropped to barely 14mpg.

I intend to start a gas milage thread here soon and we can go over some of the things that kill any chance of decent gas milage on these monsters like dragging brakes. And maybe even learn something new, with any luck!
My A/C unit has one compressor for both front and back factory air. I believe that unless Chrysler/Dodge has changed the arrangement since 1995 the only time you get a second compressor is when your van has an after market conversion such as Regency or who ever.
