Question 97 B2500 Blower help

Blower motor:

I have read what there is already and I have done all but replace the blower motor itself.

New parts:
Realy
Resistor
Resistor harness
Switch

Tested power at the harness (under hood) and found correct volts for each fan switch. But still have only high fan speed, nothing on the other 3 settings. Trying to get this ready for our summer road trips. Rear air works on all speeds.

1997 Dodge B2500 High Top conversion van 5.2l, auto Mark III conversion

Thanks,
Mark

Take a look at the back of the fan speed **** and make sure the center doesn't have a crack in it. If it does then the **** is turning but the switch shaft is not.

The front one is a up and down switch (4 place) not a **** like the rear air is.

Well there you go, you installed the wrong switch!

Just kidding, maybe you should take a look at where all of the engine compartment wires pass through the firewall to see if any are damaged.

I did check volts at the plug to the relay, but I forgot to look at the color code per because I did the repair kit wire harness. I will have to do that again later and write down results per setting on the switch to the volt output per wire (color code).

Maybe there is just something I am missing that I over looked or (with some of us) age has me missing. I am thinking it might be something with the pigtail where it plugs into the switch, its about the only part I have not torn into yet. But I thought I might ask here before I go with what ASE mechanics book would say to do next (never did trust that so called tag) and go with what my Grandpa would say knowledge from experiences is the best to go by over any book.

in doing some HAVC R&D I have found that there is a connection on the black wire from the blower motor that is known to go bad also that can cause the "HIGH ONLY" issue. Going to attack this next and will post if it corrects the issue. Now to hope that I don't have to remove the black box (under hood) to get to it.

Well the ground wire to the blower was not the issue. Still stuck with High only and ready to just rip it all out and trash it. What a royal pain
