No 1st gear torque on dodge ram van SLT
Another question for you transmission experts. My van originally had a 3 spd auto, IF a previous owner had to replace it and put a model with OD is it possible that overdrive could be engaged continuously for all gears??? I know it's a long shot but thats how the low end performance feels, I can manually shift from 1st to 2nd to 3rd, so I know it's starting off in 1st, but I don't have a tach so I can't say at what speed 1st winds out. I'm assuming I have the 3.52 rear end
Any easy way to tell what tranny I have and if it's correct?
One reason for my OD suspicion is that while under the van checking cat converter back pressure I noticed some wires pulled from the loom towards the back of the tranny with some wires wire nutted together...
Thanks...

Your thought that you may have the incorrect tranny installed is
possible. maybe the tranny is not matched with the correct rear end gears.
Wish I could say something helpful but I'm at a loss but Alloro is one
of a couple guys here that seem to know just about everything about these Ram Vans.
Best of luck

There's no such thing as a stupid question, there's only people to stupid to ask a question when they don't know something!
My response about the band adjusting is based on if the tranny is slipping. If you feel it is not slipping and the problem is truly a lack of engine power, then you need not focus on the tranny at all.
For the engine, the first thing for you to do is a fuel pressure test. Insufficient pressure will reduce the power output of the engine.
