I have a 95 Dodge b3500 with a 360 connected to an automatic transmission. For the longest time, i have been having to shift down to second at stop signs. Just this weekend my over drive light started staying on, and now it will not go into over drive. I am thinking its the stall converter...

could one state the obvious. maybe to far gone to fix. Your light staying on is an indicator that it is not operating properly.

Are you at least getting 1st 2nd and 3rd? is it stepping up not down? how many miles. when was the last service?

 

It shift in all gears fine, but searches in low rpms. I had it flushed 5000 miles prior hoping that would fix it, but no luck there. Guess its time to replace the sucker.....
