Hey Folks,

I need to replace the 2 side doors (barn doors) on my 96 2500 Ram Van .. I found a set of doors from a 97 year model van and need to know if they will fit .. I build transmissions so I know nothing about body part compatibility. Thanks for your time!

My local Dodge dealer tells me that barn doors for the 93-96 can be swapped and that 97-03 barn doors can be swapped. I was also told that the doors are the SAME on the side and rear .. I never considered that side and rear doors are the same .. Someone please correct me if this information is in error!

 

The information you have is correct.

Yes, the barn doors side and back are the same.

Also, the window glass for these doors can be swapped from the early 80s to 2003. I've done this already.

 

Yes you can swap those doors since they are the same exact shape and dimension. Correct years for exact swap on the newer vans are 98-03 and 94-97.

Stev is 100% correct about the glass. When my '97 Mark III went up in flames I was able to salvage the tinted tilt-out windows and swapped them into my 98 work van which had the crappy clear fixed pane windows.
