After tune-up, cold van whistles?
Hey all,
Recently bought my work van, 1996 5.2 2500 Ramvan with 156,000 miles, and gave it a full tune-up. Plugs, wires, pcv valve, distributor cap and rotor, oil change, air filter. It hadnt been done in a while, obviousely, the old air filter was BLACK, the old plugs were about .15 gapped too big because of corrosion, etc.
The engine runs nice and smooth with almost no skip, the only problem (?) is when I start it up cold, once I put my foot down a little (not when it idles), the engine sounds like it is whistling- not so highpitched, more like rushing air, kind of a whooshing. When I get the rpms up, like maybe 30 mphs it goes away. When it heats up it goes away.
So what gives?!? Did I create another problem? Thanks folks.

Pull the air cleaner cover off, start the engine and let it idle. Then use your finger to cover and uncover the air hole port going to the IAC valve. This will force the IAC valve to open and close a few times which should solve the problem.
