Default Cheap parts = false economy

After reading more than a few negative reports about certain auto parts venders I think aftermarket brands are what you should really be paying attention to. I have used Autozone and RockAuto for ten years and never had any issues but it is worth pointing out that I never buy the cheapest part available.

I don't buy engine parts from Ebay sellers either. Although some sellers are perfectly reputable, Ebay is well known as a dumping ground for defective items. I do buy non-critical items like tail lights and trim from Ebay sellers when I can't find them anywhere else.

Stick with better brands, take note of other Dodge van owner's recommendations and never buy the cheapest part. I think you'll have a better experience.

From personal experience I agree with you. I too will buy an upgraded part when possible. Also I like a lifetime warranty one for the simple fact I am not in the habit of getting the "new car itch" every few years.

Thats half of why I use RockAuto, I can get a better brand after market part shipped for less than local part stores sell the base part...

I probably wouldn't trust engine internals via ebay, but otherwise they aren't bad. I've gotten a lot of Moog suspension parts for good prices, new in moog box, correct part#, etc. External engine, or upgrade parts like intakes, mufflers, lowering springs, etc have all been good to me there too. Japanese headlight bulbs that last for $0.99 a pair. I wouldn't recommend sheetmetal fillers, or aftermarket body parts. Those don't fit too well from ebay.

I think everything is "Get what you pay for."
So find the brands you'd wanna pay for, then find who sells those cheapest

Rockauto.com for my vehicles too! Seems that more often the prices are better with delivery and a good chance the prats are actually made in the USA. I'm tired of the cheap parts from the national and local chain auto stores.

I have used rockauto too a few times since finding them. What I like about them is..you can do a search the no nonsense way..not swim thru a bunch of crap like the "others" which dont even seem to comprehend the proper name of a part..and yeah...great prices too. Got a map sensor there for $5 "grins"
