nice job bro.

How much fluid did you need to put in? Do you just fill it up to the top of the plug?

There's a guy on eBay who sells a diff cover with two holes; one to the side for fill and one on the bottom for drain. I was going to buy it last year but never followed through. I always use the smallest amount of RTV on both sides of the gasket just to make absolutely sure it doesn't leak. Never heard of any problems with synthetic gear lube reacting badly with RTV silicone.

I have always used the "GRAY" RTV sealant on Differential Covers and have yet had one fail due to Synthetic fluid.

Not saying that it wont or wouldn't happen. Just have not come upon that issue myself in the many of years I have used it.

15,000 miles and going on my Permatex black sealed differential running Amsoil Severe Gear. No leaks at all.

Using the Redline 75W90 Synthetic rear gear oil as specified by Chrysler in a TSB for better MPG.
