5.9 Spark Plug Excess Gap & MPG?
Afternoon; I just finished changing the plugs in our 2000 1ton Ram Van 5.9 and wanted a opinion or two. The MPG has been a problem and we have been trying to see where it suffers. The plugs call for .040 gap. The plugs I removed were not bad looking plugs at all I assume all were gapped wrong to begin with it shows no sign of wearing so bad but the plugs coming out were from .045 to .050 :
Im missing about 2 to 4 MPG on this vehicle from what it should be could this be part or all of the problem ? Possibly??
Buy a Ram Van, Change the Plugs, Check and Verify the color of your blood
Very tight place.
Thanks much for all the help
