I had some problems and got a Check Engine Light. It was running quite rough and I replaced the Spark Plugs and Wires. I also read the TSB bulletin about rerouting the wires which I did.

I disconnected the battery when I put in the plugs and wires. Put it all back together, hooked up the battery and took it for a ride.

The check engine light was gone and it runs perfectly. After driving it about 50 miles, the Check Engine Light came back on but it is running perfectly.

Question???? Was there a code stored and I must have it cleared to quit getting this Check Engine Light?

I don't have the equiptment to read codes so I guess I will have to take it to someone to clear it if that is what needs to be done.

Do a search here for "key dance" and you can use that procedure to see what code has turned the light on. Once we know the code we can better help you.

 

Did the Key Dance Trick and nothing showed up. 3 times on...3rd time left the key on. All lights went out except the Check Engine Light. Didn't see anything else appear. Does it work on a '99?

I guess I'll have to take it to an auto store and have it checked.

On the 99 check your digital odometer for the P???? codes.

 

I guess the Key Dance doesn't work on a '99. I've tried it on and off fast...on and off slow and nothing shows up in the Speedo.

Also tried it up to 4-5 and 6 times.

Oh well.....It's Hi...Ho....Hi....Ho it's off the the auto store I go and see if they can get the code for me.
