Wierd fuel gauge
This is on a 1994 Dodge B250 Ram van with the 22 gallon tank.
When I bought the van the guy said the fuel gauge wasn't right and he would just fill it up every 200 miles.
When the gauge reads full, the tank is full.
When the gauge reads empty, there is actually 1/2 of a tank left.
I can't think of anything inside the tank itself that would cause this particular problem.
Certainly the float is working fine.
Does anyone know if the instrument cluster on this model has the infamous "gas gauge voltage regulator" on it?
I'm thinking that might be the problem.
Any other ideas??
I can get a used cluster for 20 bucks.
thanks.
