Default Ticking or sputtering?

Been hearing this sound for awhile now not quite sure what it is. So what i hear is ticking or possibly sputtering comiing from the passenger side only when i step on the gas, when you release the gas pedal there is no sound. Any ideas?

Is it noisey lifters or leaky exhaust? Wouldnt lifters be noisy all the time though same with an exhaust leak? Hmmm

I'd lean more towards an exhaust leak. When you step on the gas the compression rises and so does the exhaust output volume. The noise is probably there all the time, it's just more noticeable under a load.

Thanks alloro. Just confirmed today it is infact an exhaust leak at the manifold.

I was having a clattering, clickety sound only it sounds to be coming from down below the steering column and like you described, is only when on the fuel (and climbing an incline). But it has stopped here recently (knock wood) so I am keeping it out of the shop for now! Funnily enough, I had just asked a worker at the shop I have used before if they drive and diagnose or just hook them up to a machine. I prefer the good old fashioned way. I haven't heard it since I asked him last Sunday, LOL!
