Default fuel pump assembly check valve 1989 B250 5.2L Van hard to start.

Problem
Just purchased van. Van has been sitting for two years. Replaced the Fuel pump, strainer, fuel filter and fuel pressure regulator. The check valve in the fuel pump assembly seems to be allowing fuel to drain back into the tank. As a result the van is hard to start. Once van start it runs fine.
Questions
-How do I correct the check valve problem?
-Where do you get a replacement fuel pump assembly?
-I have searched the internet and salvage yards. No luck.

In the mean time just turn the key on and off a few times before engaging the starter

Since you just replaced the FP assembly, isn't it under warranty?

Alloro, in this model year the fuel pump can be replaced within the assembly. One does not need to replace the whole assembly as in the later years
