Hi ,Looking to get some help with this Van issue ,I been looking to buy a dodge ram van for the longest time , I am driving down the road one day and spot this Dodge Van sitting in the drive way ,, with one flat tire , no tags ,, and looks as if been sitting while ...I pull over look it over ,And this van is like in super nice shape. , ,I leave A note . and I get a call back . The woman tells me she owned the van for a few years under 100 k miles ,,But it dies when driving ,She says she put over 4 thousand bucks in it and had it , no more... Cursed the guy who worked on it ,Who i went to visit who is not top shelf ,,{parts changer that is about it} She say s ...when it dies if you get out and jigle this one engine harness under hood the van will start back up , ,, I think i want to buy this van ............. But Need some help in pinpointed the issue.. I think the a, s. .r is being opened my the computer ,, and shutting it down.... But why ? I see this issue has been around with many dodge vans 1995 ,,2000 ,, any one

Sounds like a good troubleshooting exercise with a handful of jumper wires.

I have read on this forum about bad grounds being an issue with intermittent electrical problems. There are several grounding points on the engine and chassis that need to be cleaned and reconnected. Search the forum for "van bad grounds" Also the wiring harness going to the PCM under the hood gets corroded and the contact points where the wiring meets the PCM can be cleaned. I picked up a can of spray called DeOxit that cleans electrical connections super easy. see it here

Intermittent electrical connections can be a bitch to find, but if that is the only thing wrong with this van it sounds like a good prospect to be fixed especially if it already has a lot of new parts in it.
