pinion seal replace
#2
Mark the position of the nut to the shaft with punch marks. Count the EXACT number of turns to remove the nut. Pull the flange, remove the old seal, wet the new seal with oil and install it. Install the nut the exact number of turn it took to remove it, and stop when the two punch marks line-up. Doing it this way will maintain the correct torque and pressure on the collapsible spacer and will keep your rear end gears from humming.
