Default the black smoke and no park

Hi, I own a 1992 ram B250 van and it is my pride and joy. I have spent years pimping the interior however my skill set ends there as I have no mechanical expertise. Recently it has began to run very badly on petrol (its also converted to run on Lpg). When running on petrol it puffs out black smoke and runs rich and loses power. On Lpg it appears to run ok although my mechanic tells me there is also some black smoke there as well. I've replaced the oxygen sensor to no avail. The fault codes read 17,37,51. This is my main issue, other problems are it doesn't go into park and the cruise control recently stopped working. If anyone could give me any advice I would be most grateful. I have just put in an order for a new coolent sensor, egr transducer and air temp sensor. As i cannot find anyone that will work on my van (I live in the uk and nobody here wants to touch it) Im forced to keep replacing parts until it starts working again. Also the exhaust has a hole in it and when i replaced the leads, sparks, cap and rotor i notice rusty water on the engine block, possible coolent leak? Please Help im desperate!!!
Thanks for reading.

Thanks for your quick reply, I've just had a look and it is the oxygen sensor b4 the cat that i have recently replaced so im a bit confused. Also that suspected coolant leak is alot worse than i thought, there rusty water everywhere. Is code 17 to do with coolant sensor not reading above 160 after 8 minutes?

The Lpg system also relies on the o2 sensor in order to function and this appears to be working. The temperature gauge on the instrument panel never seems to move up more than 1 increment so im thinking that it could be an issue with the coolant sensor telling the computer that the engine is cold and injecting more fuel perhaps
