...what would you buy in its place since Dodge stopped making 'real' vans?

Ford, Chevy or Nissan Van...2010+

Or a Raptor. I would consider a Sprinter RV also.

Good question, this assumes I could not find a B van so my
choice a full size Chevy Van. Full size American vans are unique
and great, all that interior space mounted on a stout chassis.

What a sad day it was when the B Van was discontinued

Ford just stopped making their Ford Econoline van this year. So, the only options are the Chevy Savanah or the Nissan NV2500.

Unless something else becomes affordable, I'm just band-aiding the Ram Van for all it's worth. The rear shackles are now both broken, just stuck two thick and wide pressure treated wood slabs between the leaf knuckle and the under-body for now.

If I had the money and if it would fit my driveway I would look for a old ambulance to replace my van. Much more room and weight capacity. Plus it, if not already equiped with, has a spot for on board generator to power tools as needed. Also can have rear ac if working inside of it like a work shop. And plenty of compartments for tool/parts storage. And many have diesel engines to save on fuel while having plenty of power.

Well, I ran into that exact issue. I did a 5.5 week long 11,700km trip across Canada in our 1979 B300 campervan last summer.
We drove from Nanaimo, B.C. to St Johns NL and sold the van there, flying back home.

We got home and decided it was just to much to live without one... shopping around we found a 1989 Dodge B350 Camper Van. Sort of a Super B RV. Technically a B-Class Widebody.

So there is your answer, I would find another vintage Dodge Van...
