Infinity Radio question 1996 B2500 Zeyphr

Zeyphr conversion, has the infinity stereo upgrade listed on the window sticker as: Premium AM/FM Cassette w/Graphic Equalizer & 4 Infinity speakers
By the time I got the van, the head unit had been swapped out by a standard after market unit. Pulled the head, and they used adapters (didn't cut wires that I can see). However, there is no audio coming from the front door panel speakers. Only from the speakers in the rear.
I don't know whether the infinity system had amplifiers, and if it did, where they would be located.
Looked in the door panels, and the speakers appear to be originals, plugged into the harness with factory plugs. I can't tell where those come out in the dash.
Here's a pic of the radio cavity. There are 2 connectors (8 pins each) coming out of the harness above the cavity. one grey, one black. they are not shown (laying on top of dash)
There's an interesting black box mounted to the back wall of the dash behind the radio with harnesses coming to it. Would this be an amplifier, or is this the keyless entry system? (that's another project)
Also, what's the taped off connector on the left side of the cavity (factory taped, so maybe something that wasn't part of this build) used for?
Not getting much data off of Alldatadiy about this.
Clues?

On Dodge cars, the Infinity amps are mounted directly on the speakers. On Dodge trucks and vans the Infinity amplifier is mounted behind or beside the glove box on the dashboard end panel. The Infinity amplifiers that I've seen are silver (unfinished aluminium).
I assume you tested both speakers and speaker wiring in the doors using a known good speaker?
Front speaker wiring colors on the Infinity system are the same as normal Dodge speaker wiring.
Right Door
Light Blue/Red stripe hot
Light Blue/Black stripe ground
Left Door
Light Green/Red stripe hot
Light Green/Black stripe ground
Left Dash
Yellow/Red stripe

Right Dash
Orange/Red stripe

Gave myself some more clues as I started looking thorough all the location figures for connectors on alldatadiy. These are the infinity speakers that have the amps mounted on the speakers. So now I have more stuff to check, like the choke relay behind the glovebox, which powers them. I did not get a chance to check the speakers with known good new yet. Wondering if they would play even if the amp was inoperable. The rears don't seem amplified loud, just what I would have expected from the head unit amplification. I'll dig into this some more.
Also figured out that the mystery box is indeed the keyless entry. I grabbed what I think is the programming wire, grounded it, and put the key to on position, but I did not get a lock unlock verification, and have not been successful in programming a set of replacement FOBs off of Ebay.
Beginning to think the module may be bad. More to come.
thanks for the reply.

Just FYI, I have removed at least 20 of those Infinity amp/speakers from customer vehicles over the years and have yet to see a fully functioning Chrysler Infinity stereo system last more than a couple years. The system actually sounds very nice at very low levels but the amp/speaker burns up very easily if you turn the volume up at all. If yours are blown, I'd replace them with normal speakers and run all new door speaker wiring direct to the the radio connector that plugs into the new head unit.
If you really still want to mess around with these Infinity amp/speakers, I'd suggest searching for them on Ebay. A lot of people have one or two working speakers leftover after upgrading.

Thanks for the insight. The rears are actually up in an overhead bulkhead as part of the conversion. They are definitely amped, as I can pull the fuse to the choke relay, and kill them. I have plenty of amps and drivers left over from previous installs, so I'll just build from the ground up.
