Exclamation Help van leaking and cannot find where!!

Hi All I have a Dodge Ram convergence Van 1500 six cylinder.

In the back of the van I have a horrible water leak issue. I have siliconed all around the windows and doors ect and still it leaks horribly. The water is only on the floor and sides on the floor behind the seat. It is rusting out everything and causing rot.

Do any of you or, have any of you had this issues? I would so appreciate any help I can get. I am so frustrated!!

Thanks so much

Its usually the weather stripping around the doors. Or windows, if they are the pop-open kind. You can buy replacement weatherstripping online and glue it in place with 3m weatherstrip adhesive or pay a competent body shop do it for you.

Go to the do-it-yourself car wash. Have a helper sit in the back and observe while you slowly move the spray along each door edge and then all window edges. This will allow you to figure out exactly where the problem is.

I have tried to seal them but wow the leak is really bad. I took the paneling off inside the car and there is like this gutter deal in between the paneling and the outside wall of the van and it is full of water. Is there like a gutter deal where that water is somehow to be released through that gutter?

Thanks for your help.

Question

I took the panel out along my windows it is not leaking through the windows at all. I looked at my middle break light no leaks. I looked at my tail lights it is not leaking either it is a total mystery and it is driving me nuts, because it is not a little leak it is a huge leak. I took a shop vac and I got almost a gallon of water out of the back off my van unbelievable.

It is leaking around the wheel base on the left side so does anyone have a clue how that can happen???

Yes, the wheel wells are just spot welded in place and then a heavy adhesive is glopped on over the seams. Over time that adhesive will dry out and fail. This (or rust) commonly cause water to begin to leak inside the vehicle around the wheel wells. Once you can figure out exactly where the water is getting in, ordinary silicone sealant should work to stop it for awhile.
