Exclamation 93 Dodge B350 van...runs then quits, then runs again

hey folks need help with my 93 Dodge B350 318 engine,
the darn van is confused, at 1st cranked but wouldnt start, so changed out the coil and coil wire. started and ran great for one day. Next day while driving, it dies, it cranks but will only runs in park, put it in gear and it dies. after several attempts I got it to drive about 100 yards, and that was it, no more starts. it seemed to be starving for fuel, and there is gas in it. towed it to the house $150. now the blasted thing runs perfect. I was thinking that the flat bed wrecker had shaken the van and fuel around and unclogged it, so i checked the fuel pressure reading 30 pounds, thats good, according to specs, changed the fuel filter, it was somewhat dirty but not muddy. I dont want to get stuck again with a big tow bill, by some part that is intermittently working. any ideas what to check or change out.....thanks in advance.

also, could it still be electrical??

First off, get AAA+ with the 100 mile towing, IMO everyone should have it. You just spend two years of membership dues on one tow. Lots of places also give discounts when presenting an AAA card.

When the engine wouldn't stay running in drive, did you start it and feather the gas when shifting out of park or just leave the gas pedal alone?

hi alloro, actually i am a premium member of AAA but used up my 4 tows for the year with this same van on a recent problem with the rear brakes locking up that several ppl couldnt figure out for quite some time. wish i found this site sooner for that problem.

Anyway, didnt touch the gas just idled then died, but the one time it did drive 100 yards, idled 1st then just softly eased on the petal, after that no luck at all.

In that case it could just be a bad idle speed motor.

Sounds similar to the issues I was having.

I ended up replacing the fuel pump, coolant temp sensors, and cleaning the crap outta my IAC. Clean your IAC first - it offers the best time/cost ratio.

What if any codes are showing by doing the Key Dance?
