Ok, So I did a bunch of work to my van.....

Now, it DID NOT PASS SMOG!!! BUT!!!!! It was due to OBD system readiness

Ok here are my smog reports, the original and the new one..... I did drive the van for 60 miles prior to taking it in to get tested.

Gas tank is full. Engine oil was changed earlier this morning, oversized oil filer (ford fl1a - equivalent to fram ph8a) mobil 1 full synthetic high mileage oil 10w-40

Just replaced the cat, upstream and downstream o2 sensors, pcv valve, crankcase breather, cleaned IAC and port in TB, sprayed some carb cleaner down the throat of the TB, New fuel pump, new air filter

plugs, wires, distributor cap and rotor were replaced within the last year, and since the last smog test.

gas cap was tested and is good

on the way home, I got a few codes!! NOOOOOOO!!!!! I got p0300 (multiple cylinder misfire), p0304 (cylinder 4 misfire), and p0132 (Upstream 02 sensor voltage high)

HELP ME PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ain't much left. Did you change the ignition pickup in the distributor.

I have not changed that piece pictured. in the second link. what part are you referring to in the first link? that goes to a yahoo search with, looks like just images of all the ignition parts

I have observed that it seems to trigger the misfire codes if I decelerate quickly while coming to a stop and idling at lights... I think it may do it other times as well, but I am purposely friving a little harder than usual to make sure everything is getting settled in properly.

what about that p0132? seems to not be showing up as frequent as the misfires, but it is still showing up regularly..... would it be wise to swap back in my old o2 sensor?

I think that the plug wires are very tricky... I replaced plug wires last fall along with plugs. Everything OK, but twice after sitting a few days in very wet windy weather, when first started, it will miss a bit before warm up, then in a few minutes everything evens out. Next time I start, or later that day the misfire code pops up. If I reset it, it goes away until a similar weather occasion. This van is not a daily driver, so it sits for days at a time. Have put nearly 10,000 miles on plugs and wires with only two occasions of misfire codes...
I'm blaming a grounding out wire, or a poorly gapped plug, as it only reports the same cylinder each time.

I did buy the thickest insulation plug wires that I could find. Used Rockauto.com to find plug wires and their product INFO buttons to compare features.

What brand o2 sensors did you use?

Bosch and Dodge do not get along. Use NTK.

Spraying carb cleaner into a running engine can easily kill an 02 sensor., even if the can says 02 sensor safe.

Happened to me when my fuel pump failed and I drove it out of the intersection on TB cleaner.

Replace the 2 wire coolant temp sensor. That sensor and the upstream 02 sensors have the greatest effect on F/A ratio.

New spark plug wires means little in this day and age. Spring for quality here, not just what the AP stores have in stock.

I like Taylor wires.

Misfire codes can be caused by more than just an errant spark. Fuel pressure, injector function, and valve function can set those codes.

I actually have taylor wires, recommended by the forum....

I did not spray carb cleaner into a running engine.... the code is for over-voltage of that sensor anyways... it is not bosch, not sure what it is, but not bosch

A little more from today's trip to and from work. 1 was is about 35 miles with about 27of that being on the highway.

This morning, code p0132 manifested itself again, and a new code, p0138 (downstram o2 over voltage). I rest the codes when I arrived at work. after work, on my drive home, p0132 showed up again, I saw exactly when the light came on, I was going up an overpass and was at around 60mph. the vehicle felt like someone had put the brakes on for a split second and the light came on. My foot was into the pedal at the same pressure the whole time, moderate pressure

at this point, should I swap the 02 sensors for what was originally on my old cat system? I think I might, just to rule the o2 sensors out, or not
