I know that this forum is geared more towards newer Dodges but am wondering about something on my old 1977 van.

I replaced the original 1977 plastic grille with one from an early 1971 van and was wondering, does anyone here know if the earlier grille is stainless, or aluminum?

Is there some test I could perform that wouldn't ruin the grille?

It just seems too stiff to be aluminum, and I have heard that they were made from stainless the first year (1971), but were built from aluminum the next 2 years.

Any info would be greatly appreciated!
