Default Seat Belt replacement 96' Dodge Ram Van 2500

Hi guys,

My driver's side seatbelt retractor does not work anymore. The guy who sold me the van said that I could replace the seatbelt with a seatbelt from the rear of the van. Does anyone know if this is true? If so what tools will I need? I thought he mentioned something about needing a torque wrench.

If not could anyone recommend a place to get a replacement? Online searches are coming up with nothing compatible.

Thanks!

You may be able to replace it with the rearmost seatbelt on the driver's side. I don't know if it is exactly the same though. You will need a torque wrench to torque the mount bolts properly, but I think he was referring to a torx bit to remove the mount bolts. They aren't hex head bolts, they have a torx head so you will need to borrow or buy the bit to remove the bolts.

Do you know if a seatbelt from a 99' would work?
