Question !987 B3500 extended Hi top HEater Core?

Hello All: I am trying to replace heater core in my van. I have all the stuff
loose! AC lines off bolts undone, inside & out! But it seems to not have the
room to "angle out the book says"! angle out there butt! There was a bolt
from the front facia, really in the way i took it out! but still does not seem like its going to have room to come out? i gave up tonight gets dark at 4.30
i dont have a garage! ill start fresh in morning! Anyone ever take on one of these suckers? I have two screws on the top cap section, that if i could get too i could get the AC core out then i think i can get it rest of way out? And
think will have to take oil check tube out as well! Its allso in the way of moving the beast out! Any positive Advice Much Apreciate!! Looks like can be
done but the chilton book is sure full of bull! If i have to take front end apart,
ill just put bypass hose on! So i can use van in mean time, at least the rear
heater still works! hope i dont have to do that! Thank You Kindly for any help! The Van Dude

1987 can't help ya, but '97 should be the same as 2000. You must remove the bolts holding the upper core support and loosen the bolts on the left then swing the top core support up and over.

Its a bitch and you'll probably have to bend the metal to get it up and over.

If you loosen the left side core support/radiator supports and remove all nuts on the right you can swing the condenser and radiator forward just enough to get the box out. Be sure to drain the radiator first or you may break the radiator supports.
