Default 79 B350 (van front camper) - Directional cam replacement?

Directional lever doesn't click in our 79 Dodge B350 camper so guessing the cam is wasted.

Can't find any information about these old things on the net anymore!

Is it pretty self explanatory? Have to do it in one shot so hate to do any exploratory surgery blind!

A southern salvage yard will have a unit, you likely can find one in very good condition.

I haven't done one like this since owning my 1980 Chevy Monza

I remember these are pretty easy to do. It looks really similar to my old Monza. Take the steering wheel off and you will see the assemble right after that. Take out the 3 or so screws and unplug the harness which I think will be under the dash on or in the lower steering column. Pull it out and installation is reverse of removal.

The are on ebay but I would email the sellers to make sure they will work with a 79...one place says it does, but Id doublecheck or maybe someone here knows

Sounds about right, and yes it's self explanatory. My one tip is to make sure you tie a string onto the wiring harness has you pull it out of the column. Then use that string to pull the new harness back in.

Whew, what a price difference between OEM and aftermarket! But the quality is quite evident too.

Good idea on the string, I'll be sure to do that!
