The ball joint thread made me think. Can you change the upper and lower control arms, plus (maybe) the knuckle and have a 2500 style suspension set up.

From what I can surmise, my springs are 2500, but the other parts are 1500.

I'm not worried about the rear, but the front on my van takes a lot of abuse. Especially since it's driving weight is 6300lbs.

 

I believe you can swap between the 1/2 and 3/4 ton components (not 1-ton), but keep in mind the front end will likely raise up. There is 125 lbs. more lift at each wheel with the 3/4 ton springs.

 

I wouldn't mind the extra clearance I have coilovers on all 4 sides now so it is up maybe 1/2in more than the stock was.

I will look into it when I need new BJs.
