Default Leaf springs

So...when should you consider replacing your rear leaf springs? Is there a way to determine that the spring tension is still adequate? I have a '97 B3500. The bushings are not horrible but need to be changed. Do I get new springs when I change the bushings? I will probably have to take them out to press the bushings in anyway. I just never hear of folks replacing the leaf springs. What do you guys think? Thanks for the help.

Most never change the springs unless something broke. Find a spring or suspension shop and they can add a booster leaf if you feel there is some sag.
