89 Dodge ram van
So I drove my 89 Dodge ram van from Los Angeles to Las Vegas the other day. We would feel a slight hesitation ( I don't know that is the right way to explain) I'm not too knowledgeable about cars, but when I was on the freeway after about 45m- 1h of driving 65+ it would start to feel as if it was trying to shift up but then go back down and that's what I mean by hesitate, we checked trans fluid, was okay, checked oil, it was fine. It runs really well other than that slight issue then we would pull to side of road and let rest and it wouldn't do it again for another 45- to hr. I decided try and ride it out to see if it would stop and it did it for like 20- 30 min and stop.. I'm sure it's not good for the van but it's a new van to us and was trying to get a feel for it. Does anyone know what could be causing this or a way to better describe this to mechanic?
Ps. Did stall it 2 times once at red light and once backing into gas stall.
Pps. The idle on it is almost non existent.

My 91 b150 would act like it was hauling a trailer and downshift/upshift. Would sometimes stall as well. I would have sworn it was a transmission issue, but a A $16 throttle position sensor fixed the problem twice.
