Default Blower motor shuts off when switched to “ high “

2001 Ram van 3500. Hvac relay burnt up shutting ac down. Replaced it. Works fine except when switched to high. It then shuts down. I replaced blower resister, high speed blower fuse and blower switch. Same thing. Works fine until I switch to the highest setting. Then it completely shuts off. What gives?

Maybe the motor itself.

I guess that’s my next action to take. It blows just fine on low and medium. Don’t know why it would just shut down when I move to high.

the blower is fed power and grd controlled. if you were to supply grd to the blower motor, light green/white wire, and it blows on high...you know the fan is not the problem and the problem is the grd circuit after the fan.

It could be the blower resistor pigtail not making a connection on the high speed wire. FYI, the motor is fine, if it were the problem all speeds would be affected, not just high.

Well, it’s not the blower motor . Hooked up power to a new one and it still shuts off when switched to high. Harness pigtail to new resistor, not sure about. Ac working fine and blowing cold on all 3 settings below high. I replaced switch so that is ruled out.

in high speed the position the motor grounds through the high speed relay circuit. all other speeds it goes thru the resisitor. so the fault lies in the relay circuit.
-check the high blower relay in the power dist center
-put your finger on it...has someone turn the key to run, engine off...then turn the blower fan speed switch to high and then any other speed. You should hear and feel the relay click as its engergized.
-if not...check fuse 10 15amp in the left side of dash fuse panel.
-report your findings and if you need to go further, I'll walk you thru it.
